Born in upstate New York but molded near New York City, Boston is now home and has been since 2015. Traveling with my family was a large part of my upbringing, whether it was exploring Alaska’s Inside Passage on a cruise, visiting family who were living in London for a few years or learning more about the world in Israel.
The real adventure began my senior year of college at the University of Delaware on a study abroad to Berlin, Budapest, Sarajevo, and Belgrade — where the origins of what would eventually become this project can be traced to.
Flash forward three and a half years and here we go. Several trips to three continents later, some recorded some not, have given the breath of life to one of my lifelong goals — to travel — and be able to look back on the memories created. What began as a blog for a small group of family and close friends has grown quite a bit.
Moving to Boston after college, I worked for a non-profit with a mission in educational travel for older adults. I was fortunate to be able to travel for both work and for play during my time there with highlights including Bermuda and French Polynesia. During my time there, I was involved in their digital marketing efforts, helping boost their web presence and create travel resources to better assist their audience of primarily older adults.
Since the summer 2019, I changed jobs and found myself further into the digital sphere as the primary website contact for a corporate law firm based in Boston. Despite changing jobs, the itch to travel has only grown. Balancing work and life, limited vacation and paying bills — the struggles that everyone has to deal with and are no way unique. I don’t have the answers and can’t wait to ride out the highs and the lows while making the most of what I’ve got.
In the always-relevant words of Sublime:
“Well, life is too short, so love the one you got
‘Cause you might get run over or you might get shot.”
